This website is all about learning French. Or more specifically, it is a place for me to record and share my experiences of learning the French language.
Right now, I am almost a complete beginner. For the past four years since meeting my French boyfriend I have wanted to learn French but never really applied myself to the task. Of course, I learned a few words here and there and listened to the occasional language CD, but I never really had the necessary time or motivation to do little more than dabbling. Consequently I need to start almost from scratch. The time has come to get myself in gear. I have talked for years about how I wish I could learn French. Well, it is now time to stop wishing and to start actually doing it - consistently. The journey begins now and hopefully as I progress my blog will be useful for other language learners, as well as interesting for those who have a love of France and French culture. I will be taking a fairly intensive approach with my studying. My ultimate goal is to eventually reach a high level of fluency.

I won’t wish you luck… but will wish you bonne chance! Even though you mightn’t realise it until further down the line you have a massive advantage by having had a French boyfriend. There is all this French language tucked away there subliminally just waiting to be used. Learning a language can be hard, but is ultimately so rewarding… I wish you all the best!
